Reports from the new EU member States:

In 2009 national seminars to promote global/development education in new EU member States gathered main stakeholders in Bulgaria, Latvia, Estonia, Slovenia and Poland to assess the state of GDE and think of national strategies for its promotion. National seminars in remaining 7 new members States took place in 2010. A series of regional seminars took place from 2010 to 2011 to complete this cycle.

European Charter for Democratic Schools without Violence

Upon the initiative of the Council of Europe, young people from across Europe have prepared the European Charter for Democratic Schools without Violence on the basis of the fundamental values and principles shared by all Europeans, in particular those set forth in the Council of Europe’s Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms.
